Inside

Well it looks like I will be riding inside for the next couple of days. It has snowed a lot here for GJ. They usually do not get much snow. This one kid that has lived here his whole life told me that he has never seen so much snow here. I thought it was funny because it is not bad at all. It covers the ground and is usually gone the next day.
Looks like Conor and I are head of the Mesa State Cycling team. Conor is President and I am Vice President. I hope it goes well. Gingers are slowly taking over the world. We are starting with the cycling team and moving on.
This is a pic while riding the trainer today.(I was very bored)Watching the movie pro

Not a whole lot

Well not a whole lot has been going on since last time. Just getting some good time on the bike and now I am starting to put a couple intervals in my workout and I feel great. Last weekend I went to the X Games with a bunch of friends and it was a blast. Then went snowboarding the next day which also was a lot of fun.
Tonight is the first cycling meeting for Mesa and I think I am either going to be voted into president or vice president. I really don't want to do either but there really is no one else that will step up so we will see how that goes.
Valley of the sun is coming up here in a couple of weeks. I am looking forward to the warm weather and to see how I am riding compared to last year. I finally put my new ring onto my TT bike (55 t) we will see how that works. I am just ready for the season to get under way.

Temps

I have been very lucky with the temps here in Gj. It has been at least 30 degrees out and sunny. I have been getting at least 2 and half hours outside everyday and feeling good. I have not yet had to ride the trainer yet.(knock on wood) But today it is looking cloudy over the monument so it may snow but I am going to go and try to get a couple hours in.
The first week of school is almost over with and it looks like it will be a good semester. It works out great with my riding. The latest I get out of class is 1:30 so I have plenty of time to get out in ride. I am hoping this year will be even better then the last. I am already getting in more miles then last year so that must help. Valley of the sun is just around the corner. Feb 15-17. It should be a good race. I am not expecting anything great just a good training race to see how i am feeling.
This weekend I am off to the X Games in Aspen Colorado. That should be a good time. Then on Sunday I am going to do some more boarding and then it is back on the bike. My first collegiate race is March 1st or something. That will be here before I know it.

Not ready.

I have had such a long break off from school and tomorrow I have to start it all up again and I am not ready. I am just getting some good time on the bike and that's all I want to do know. I just need to get this week done and then I should get into a routine. Right now my schedule is not that great but I am trying to change it around so I have a lot of time to ride. So i am crossing my fingers that I can get into this one class, other wise it just screws up my training.

Travel

Well I left Denver yesterday around noon and made it to school around 4. The trip was not bad and the moving back in was ok. Today I went up to powderhorn to do some snowboarding before the training really starts. It was the best day of snowboarding ever. The powder was so nice and a lot of fun. Went into some boulder fields with a lot of powder. No one really knows about this run so it was so much fun. Tomorrow it is back on the bike. Going on a ride with Conor and Mo. Hope its not too cold.

Getting back

Just trying to get back in the swing of things for training. I am starting to get some base miles in right now. It feels good to be back on the road bike. The weather has been nice for the past few days but tomorrow it is going to change. High of 15 degrees, that is way to cold to go out and ride. Looking at GJ weather it does not look any better. It has been colder there then it has been here. I have one week before I start school up again. My first race is going to be Valley of the sun in February, and then collegiate not to long after that. I am looking forward to a great season.

Hate the snow

I am ready for warm weather again. I want to just wear shorts and a jersey when I go ride. I have been slacking on the training. I am getting a couple of hours in each day or doing some other activity like skate skiing. I just want to be able to go ride for hours and not freeze. I just can't ride a trainer for more then two hours. It is just not possible. Some guys can but I just can't.
Everyday I ride my unicycle and I am getting pretty good at it. I can ride pretty far and just hop on to it with out holding onto something. it actually is a good workout. My legs burn after. I think I may enter the pro circuit for unicycling. I think this weekend I am going to go do some more skate skiing or go up to Corey's cabin and do some snowboarding.

Workout

Well this week I thought since I couldn't really ride my bike that I would go skate skiing for the first time. I heard it was a great workout and great training for cycling and it sure was. It was a great time. We went up to Vail for 2 and half days of cross country skiing and it was a lot of fun. A lot of falls but a great workout. I started to get the hang of it today and really like it. I got to demo really nice skis today and it was great. I want to go up more on the days that I am not riding.

Tomorrow I am hoping to go out and go on a couple hour ride if it does not snow. Then it will be on the trainer the rest of the week.

Cold New Year

Well I thought that I would start the New Year off right with a long ride. There was suppose to be a handful of people riding a century this morning. It sounded like a great idea until I saw the forecast. It was suppose to be a high to 29 degrees today. I woke up early this morning and the news said with the windshield it was -15 degrees. I thought it was going to warm up but I was wrong.
Conor and I left our house at eight this morning riding our cross bikes. I was ok for about fifteen min until My whole face, fingers, toes and ears were numb. I knew it was a bad idea and I just wanted to turn around. We were suppose to meet the group downtown at 930 but the rait we were going it would take us all day to get there. So we just called it a day and will try again later in the week when it is suppose to be like 40 degrees warmer. My fingers still feel numb and tingle. I don't think anyone ended up riding anyways. Frozen Water

On these kind of days I just want to go cross country skiing. That sounds fun and i am sure it is a good workout. I have never gone but it looks fun. I am going to try to do some of that this winter and see how it goes. So if anyone wants to go and teach me let me know. Happy New Year to all and I hope it is a great year. Trying to warm up
